Oregon’s dynamic Willamette Valley is packed full of opportunities for providers and their families. This region is home to several universities, including the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Willamette University, and Monmouth University. A variety of healthcare practices and facilities are spread throughout the area, connected by the North-South arterial of interstate highway 5.
Nestled between wide stretches of state and national forests, and with mountains on either side, this lush valley is home to much of Oregon’s wine country. Many of the state’s 50+ covered bridges are concentrated here, and the region hosts a wealth of recreational opportunities.
Multiple rivers offer abundant fishing, rafting, kayaking, and boating. Bike year-round on valley back roads, and find your favorite swimming hole in one of the many rivers or lakes. Celebrate with your neighbors at events such as Fiesta Cultural, the Scandinavian Festival, DaVinci Days, and Oktoberfest. Experience an extensive array of visual and performing arts at galleries, stages, and concert halls.
Environment: Temperatures are moderate and seldom dip below 30°F or above 90°F. Most of the annual rainfall occurs over the winter and spring months, but is rarely heavy. The moderate climate contributes to excellent gardening and crop cultivation, and farmer’s markets and produce stands are plentiful from May to October. Many farms also offer a U-pick option as well.
