Arizona is recognized for its ongoing innovation in numerous fields including medicine, biosciences, agriculture, and technology; high quality of life; beautiful and unique landscape; and, for its majestic Grand Canyon National Park, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. It is home to three major state Universities and numerous community colleges.
Arizona is the 6th largest state in the U.S. by area and is home to about 6.9 million people which includes 22 federally recognized Native American tribes/nations and a large Hispanic population. Arizona has several job openings in rural communities offering generous benefits and opportunities such as loan repayment opportunities for eligible providers.
Arizona’s beautiful lakes, mountains and weather allow for great outdoor activities. You can enjoy hiking, river rafting, skiing, and a lot more. If you are open to international adventures, Arizona shares a 389 mile long border with Mexico. In addition, Arizona is one of the Four Corners states, sharing a regional border with New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and California.
We might be the Old West but we have a lot to offer! Make the Grand Canyon State the next place you call home and enjoy beautiful landscapes, friendly people and culturally diverse populations!
Key Points
In 2012, the Arizona Center for Rural Health, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers formed the Arizona Rural Recruitment & Retention Network (Az3RNet) partnership. This partnership has enabled us to enhance our collective outreach to facilities statewide and placement of providers into rural and underserved communities.
The AZ 3RNet is managed by staff at the Center for Rural Health (CRH) providing assistance to health providers seeking jobs in rural Arizona and health facilities seeking necessary providers. Through this site, you can view or post job opportunities.
ARIZONA STATE LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM (SLRP)
In exchange for an initial two year commitment working full-time at an eligible site located in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) in Arizona, physicians and dentists may be eligible for up to $65,000 of tax-free loan repayment and up to $50,000 for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and behavioral health providers. Providers may be eligible if employed by a public, non-profit or rural private practice site located in a HPSA.
Other Loan Repayment Programs:
NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program (NURSE Corps LRP)
The NURSE Corps LRP assists in the recruitment and retention of professional Registered Nurses (RNs) and advanced practice RNs. The program offers substantial financial assistance to eligible RNs to repay a portion of their qualifying educational loans in exchange for full-time service either at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses or at an accredited eligible school of nursing in the case of nurse faculty.
