3RNet was established in 1995, and since then has worked to help ensure quality healthcare access to the nation’s rural and underserved communities. At the heart of that mission, 3RNet has always had a strong focus on primary care specialties as these providers serve as the backbone of the healthcare infrastructure not only in rural and underserved areas, but across the entire nation. With this in mind, 3RNet is proud to be a longtime supporter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Family medicine physicians have long been established as the cornerstone of many hospitals, clinics, and federally qualified health centers (also known as community health centers). They care for all patients regardless of gender, age, or location. They also often serve as the front-line provider for patient care, and have a primary role in helping the patient navigate the complex healthcare system. According to the AAFP, family physicians see 214 million office visits each year, which is almost 74 million more than then next largest medical specialty.
Considering the well-established need for more family medicine physicians to practice in rural and underserved communities, one of the most important events 3RNet and our members attend every year, is the AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students. With more than 2,000 medical students and residents in attendance, this conference is the perfect place to spread the word about the great things happening everyday across rural and underserved America.
This year, 3RNet will be in booths 1832 and 1833 (see the floor plan here) and is also a sponsor of the AAFP National Conference mobile app that is available for iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry devices. You can learn more about the conference, and view our 3RNet AAFP National Conference flyers, by downloading the app. 3RNet staff will be in attendance, but more importantly students and residents will have the chance to directly speak with our members from the following locations:
- Cherokee Nation
- New Mexico
- North Dakota
- South Carolina
3RNet operates as a cooperative, so even if you are interested in other rural and undeserved locations, stop by our booth and we will be happy to get you information, and connect you with our member from that state. 3RNet members are the experts in their state on loan repayment, J-1 Visa Waivers, and rural and underserved jobs. Since our members work for non-profits or government entities and represent their entire state, they provide the best not-biased information. 3RNet members are the trusted resource for hundreds of candidates and facilities nationwide.
