How long have you lived in Oklahoma? Why do you choose to live there? 
I’ve lived in Oklahoma for about 30 years. Spent some time in Texas, but had to move home!

How is 3RNet impacting Oklahoma? 
We are always reminding folks about the opportunity to post positions, but still a long ways to go. 

What are the best cultural events that happen in Oklahoma? 
There are so many local festivals throughout the state, any given weekend you can find something happening. Red Earth Native American Festival just outside of Oklahoma City, the Strawberry Festival in Stillwell, rattlesnake festivals/hunt all over the state, the Shawnee International Youth Finals Rodeo. Pawhuska is also home to the Pioneer Woman. 

Why should a health professional choose Oklahoma over surrounding states?
Oklahoma has plenty of opportunities in rural areas, but what sets Oklahoma apart is the friendliness you will find wherever you go in the state. The cost of living in Oklahoma is nearly unbeatable.

What loan repayment programs does Oklahoma have? Anything that makes those programs unique? 
Our state participates in the National Health Service Corps loan repayment program and we also have a state program called the Physician Manpower Training Commission that assists physicians and nurses with residency, internship and scholarship programs for those interested in working in rural and underserved areas of Oklahoma.

Why do people travel to Oklahoma? 
People travel to Oklahoma for the range of outdoor activities available. Lakes, rivers, camping, hiking, and hunting. There are also plenty of national and regional rodeo events. The Oklahoma City Thunder draws people from all over. 

What sports teams does Oklahoma have? 
The Oklahoma City Thunder, OSU Cowboys, and the OU Sooners are the big ones. 

What is your favorite local food? 
Good old fashioned hamburgers!

What is Oklahoma best known for?
Where the Wind Comes Sweeping Down the Plain (The musical, as well as the wind that actually sweeps through the plains)

What is the biggest misconception about Oklahoma? 

That we still ride horses around town, which, if that’s what you want, you can find it, but there are plenty of options for metropolitan areas. 

What are the biggest industries in Oklahoma?
Oil, gas, and agriculture 

How is the weather/climate in Oklahoma? 
We have a good mix of all the seasons however we have been known to experience all four in a single day! Will Rogers (a famous Okie) once said, “If you don’t like the weather in Oklahoma, wait a minute and it’ll change”
