2025 Year in Review Part Two
In early 2025, 3RNET’s Board of Directors and Staff met in Nashville, Tennessee for our bi-annual “Advance” strategic planning meeting. The most significant of takeaways from this gathering was the update to 3RNET’s vision and mission, and the creation of a “purpose” statement as well as “strategic values.” These new phrases are a repackaging of the continued mission of our organization and will continue to help inform our actions:

2025 Academy
Our 2025 Recruiting for Retention Academy was our tenth annual webinar series for employers. It began in October, and the six sessions ran through mid-December. We welcomed nearly 600 attendees from over 20 states. Many of these participants were sponsored by their 3RNET member, who paid to support Academy attendance.
Education
2025 was another busy year for 3RNET education! Our team presented more than 25 sessions on workforce recruitment and retention topics. Throughout 2025 we were invited to provide both in-person and virtual education and training with member and partner organizations in Maine, Louisiana, California, Georgia, New York, Florida, and Oregon. We also conducted a multiple-part webinar series for both North Dakota and Colorado.
Additionally, 3RNET participated in meetings, presented on a variety of recruitment for retention topics, and exhibited at national conferences, including: BHW Rural Health, RCORP, NARHC, NARMH, ACU, RMTC, NRHA, NAO, HOSA, AAPPR, NERHA, and NOSORH. We also had the opportunity to present to PracticeMatch physician candidates on navigating loan repayment programs and J-1 visa waiver programs in conjunction with their career fair.
3RNET Plus Tools
3RNET Plus Tools is a subscription service for employers - separate from the access employers know and trust through their 3RNET Network Coordinators.
3RNET Plus Tools provides digital tools so employers can use technology to implement the best practices of recruiting to rural and underserved areas that 3RNET has been teaching since 1995! Some of the many tools included in 3RNET Plus Tools’ suite are: candidate tracking, website connectivity, featured jobs on 3RNET.org, and more.
RRPD + THC Technical Assistance Centers Partnerships
In 2025 we launched a new feature to 3RNET.org, which adds the ability to post and promote faculty and teaching career opportunities. These positions are added to 3RNET the same way as employment opportunities and are searchable to our thousands of registered candidates via our interactive website.
3RNET partners with the Rural Residency Planning and Development and Teaching Health Center Technical Assistance Centers which support the development of new residencies to develop educational resources and support these programs.
2025 Annual Conference Highlights
We gathered in Reno, Nevada in August with nearly 60 attendees from around the nation, over 20 speakers, and 10 sponsoring organizations for our 2025 3RNET Annual Conference. We celebrated 30 years of 3RNET and presented awards to Tom Morris from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy and Joyce Grayson.
