Hang gliding is always on the rise in Lakeview. Hart Mountain's National Antelope Refuge is a great deer and antelope watching spot.

The Maiheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters an excellent museum. Cross-country skiing or snowmobiling in Warner Canyon is spectacular.

In Christmas Valley to the north, discover Lost Forest—9000 acres of ponderosa pines that mysteriously grow in the middle of the desert. Hike in the remains of Fort Rock Volcano and visit the Fort Rock Homestead Village museum where Native American battles are commemorated.

Southeast Oregon has a dry climate. Summer days can range from 80-100 degrees, cooling quickly after sundown. Winters are cold, creating snow sport conditions in the mountains.

Primary care preference.
