Every minute Oregon's coastline is battered with waves born 6,000 miles away. The results defy description; Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, Devil's Punch Bowl and the Yaquina Head tide pools near Newport, the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and the seastacks at Bandon Beach.

There are numerous health care opportunities along the 300 miles of scenic Oregon coastline. When you aren't working, travel Oregon's Hwy 101 through river valleys, ocean bays, coastal forests and enjoy quaint coastal communities where you can purchase fresh seafood, dine at fine restaurants or grab a quick bowl of Mo's Famous Chowder. Outlet malls are nestled into Oregon's artist communities. Top class golf can be found in many locations along the Oregon coastline.

Small seaside towns hold onto history as communities grow into modern 'burbs'. Education and healthcare are the major employers. For the entrepreneur, unique small businesses can attract the tourists as well as local community members.

The Oregon Coast offers deep-sea or river fishing, sailing, surfing and windsurfing. In the coastal mountains above the beaches, campgrounds are open year around. Wildlife watchers may spot gray whales, sea lions, otters, elk, bald eagles and much more. Relive Lewis & Clark's journey at Seaside and Fort Clatsop near Astoria or visit the Maritime Museum in Astoria.

Soak up some culture at the Coaster Theater in Cannon Beach or explore the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. Coastal towns have temperate weather with summer staying comfortable in the 60s and 70s, and winter about 20 degrees cooler. Expect the warmest, calm days in early autumn.
