The Deschutes River attracts rafters and kayakers to its exciting rapids and scenic floats. This region has 24 spectacular golf courses and hosts the Pacific Amateur Golf Classic every October. Mt. Bachelor and Hoodoo Ski Area offer downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and even dog sledding.

The Museum at Warm Springs celebrates the rich culture of the Confederated Tribes and the High Desert Museum in Bend offers natural and cultural history as well as planned activities year round.

Central Oregon is high-desert country with less than 12" of rain a year. Summer days are warm and sunny, cooling quickly at night. Winters bring deep, dry powder snow in the mountains and occasional snowfall at lower elevations.
