Named after the trail that once ran through the region, the Pony Express Territory has much to offer.

Great Basin National Park is home to the famous bristle cone pines and offers camping, hiking, and many other outdoor opportunities. Historic mining towns like Ely, Eureka, Austin are rich in history and friendly to new members of their community.

Nevada can support up to 30 slots per year for the J-1 Visa (Conrad 30 Waiver) Program. Applications are accepted throughout the year, beginning October 1 of each year. The 2015 State Physician Workforce Data Book ranks Nevada 8th in the Nation for the percentage of International Medical Graduates active in our state, reflecting our welcoming environment for diverse practice.

The program is open to both primary care physicians and specialists. Our state accepts healthcare sites in designated areas and non-designated areas (“flex slots”) as long as the sites serve an underserved population. Additional information about our program and application instructions are located at our website: http://dpbh.nv.gov/Programs/Conrad30/Conrad30-Home/[dpbh.nv.gov]
