Year round sunny weather and close proximity to the large urban center of Las Vegas make this region a good choice to practice and call home. Mt. Charleston provides residents with an escape from the heat in the summer and skiing opportunities in the winter.

For the motorcycle enthusiast Laughlin might be for you and for the outdoor adventurer Lake Mead and surrounding attractions offer an array of opportunities. This territory offers the best of both worlds, a multitude of outdoor activities and also a night life that can't be beat.

Nevada can support up to 30 slots per year for the J-1 Visa (Conrad 30 Waiver) Program. Applications are accepted throughout the year, beginning October 1 of each year. The 2015 State Physician Workforce Data Book ranks Nevada 8th in the Nation for the percentage of International Medical Graduates active in our state, reflecting our welcoming environment for diverse practice.

The program is open to both primary care physicians and specialists. Our state accepts healthcare sites in designated areas and non-designated areas (“flex slots”) as long as the sites serve an underserved population. Additional information about our program and application instructions are located at our website: http://dpbh.nv.gov/Programs/Conrad30/Conrad30-Home/[dpbh.nv.gov]
