North Alabama sits along the southern foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy stunning mountain and lake landscapes. Visitors can enjoy miles of public trails, camping and touring numerous caves, boating and fishing at Lake Guntersville, and golfing at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Visit the Tuscumbia area and treat yourself to a forty minute water show choreographed with music and lights. North Alabama is also home to the Cloudmont Ski and Golf Resort in Mentone, the Southeastern most Ski Resort in the US. Travel to Fort Payne to hike the DeSoto State Park where you can also enjoy kayaking and rock climbing.

Huntsville, one of North Alabama’s most well known cities, is home to the US Space and Rocket Center and the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. University of Alabama at Huntsville’s award-winning Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering program produces some of the most successful engineers in the world.

North Alabama can also provide a great night life experience. Stroll through downtown Huntsville with unique restaurants and shopping at your fingertips at the Five Points shopping district. If music is your main interest, visit the Huntsville Crossroads music venue for evening concerts or the FAME recording studio in Muscle Shoals that has worked with some of the greatest artists in music history including Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding.
