The primary role of a radiologic technologist (also called an X-ray technologist or radiographer) is using medical imaging equipment to produce images of tissues, organs, bones, and vessels. Duties include preparing equipment and rooms for use as needed, proper positioning for imaging exams, monitoring and properly assessing patient during exams, adjusting techniques adequately and precisely as to assure radiation exposure follows the ALARA principle, etc.
