Community Information:

Elgin, North Dakota, is a small, close-knit rural city located in the southwestern part of the state within Grant County. We are 15 miles south of Lake Tschida, a definite go to during the summer months. We also have Sheep Creek Dam 4 miles south of us, and our school is housed with an indoor swimming pool open year round so if you like water, you'll like Elgin!

Elgin is known as the largest municipality in the county, it serves as an essential hub for local agriculture, medical services and senior care. Our economy is driven by regional farming and ranching and community healthcare.

There is so much to explore and see! We have shopping venues, a coffee shop, and a bowling alley. If you'd like to grab a bite to eat you can go to our local cafe or during the summer you can venture over to the city park every Friday night where members of the Legion grill burgers and hotdogs in the park (and various groups make pie so if you have a sweet tooth we have individual slices of homemade pies for sale as well!). We also have garage sales, baseball games, Elgin Days, golfing extravaganzas and events. One of the best attributes is you can enjoy the fresh air and the open sky while you go for a walk or a bike ride.

Community Selling Points:

Access to Larger Community, Recreational Opportunities, Religious/Cultural Opportunities, Perception of Community, Internet Access
