Description

The Instructional Manager is responsible for overseeing the teaching team and helping to maintain high-quality instruction at the Learning Community Center of South Omaha and its satellite programs. This position supports teachers in promoting high-quality classroom instruction in adult education (ESL and GED) as well as other types of classes (parenting classes and workshops) offered at the center. This is a working manager position and includes some classroom teaching, co-teaching, as well as coordinating with and supporting partners who provide adult education classes at the center.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Related teaching experience and certification in teaching English as a Second Language required (ex: ESL Endorsement, TESOL/TEFL certificate); State of Nebraska teaching certificate preferred.
  • Prior experience with technology in facilitating instruction required.
  • Prior teaching experience in the public school system preferred.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.
  • Outstanding personal/interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities for accomplishing assigned work, implement action plans and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to accommodate the learning needs of non-traditional, diverse student populations.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings.
