OneWorld operates fast-paced and exciting primary care clinics, and we are looking for a Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our team.  Our MAs are essential members of the clinical team, providing high-quality care to underserved populations in a culturally diverse setting.  MAs at OneWorld work at the top of their license; they prep patients for their appointments, check vitals, assist providers with procedures, prepare specimens, manage patient call lists, stock, and clean exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and order medical supplies.

DESCRIPTION:

The Health Assistant, under the direction of a licensed nurse, works as part of the medical team performing the clinical and clerical duties necessary to meet the goal of providing primary healthcare.  Duties include preparing patients for their visit, gathering information, registering patients, preparing medical charts, performing point-of-care testing and routine procedures, assisting providers with more complex procedures, making appointments when necessary, and answering the phone utilizing excellent customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required, OR must be actively pursuing a high school diploma/GED.
  2. Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) required.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within first 30 days of employment.
  4. Certified Medication Aide required within first three months of employment.
  5. Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
  6. Prior healthcare experience preferred.
  7. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred.
  8. Proficiency in English required for all locations.
  9. Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to OneWorld patients and staff.
  10. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
  11. Flexibility with changing work schedules required.
