OneWorld Community Health Centers
Omaha, Nebraska
Job ID #86485

Be Inspired By the Work You Do

At OneWorld, we believe that improving patient health outcomes requires addressing the social determinants of health, such as education. For this reason, OneWorld operates the Learning Community Center of South Omaha (LCCSO). The LCCSO works with children and families to challenge the opportunity gap through early childhood education, family engagement, and future teacher preparation. Our goal is to measurably improve educational outcomes for children and families.

We are seeking a mission-driven Educational Navigator to join our team!

The Educational Navigator is responsible for engaging South Omaha families to connect them to our program and our mission. The Learning Community Center of South Omaha supports parents and their young children, partnering with them in ways that build on their knowledge and develop new skills that make the home a better environment for children to learn and develop.

This is a full-time evening position located at South Omaha (23rd & M.).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, psychology, sociology or related field OR equivalent work experience using educational techniques to improve child outcomes required.
  2. One or more years of experience in social services preferred. Knowledge of social service resources and experience completing needs assessments and evaluations is preferred.
  3. Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, including written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
  4. Competency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, is required.
  5. Demonstrated task and detail orientation, completing and documenting visits in a timely manner.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently but still committed to the team function and overall program mission.
  7. Willingness to visit program participants in their homes is required. A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, along with a clean driving record, are required.
  8. Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish relationships with people of diverse populations and backgrounds.
  9. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable and to generate innovative ideas and alternatives to work assignments.
  10. Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings.
