Lake City is a small, rural town situated between Creede to the South and Gunnison to the North on HWY 149. During the winter months (October - April), the town is mostly quiet except for the Christmas activities in December and Winter Festivities on weekends in February. The summer season kicks off on Memorial weekend and continues with a wide range of entertainment and activities for all ages. There is one school, grocery store, bank, and movie theatre, two parks, three gas stations, a few year-round restaurants (many more during the summer) and no street lights.
