Vermont J1 Visa: A limited number of J-1 Visa waivers are granted to non-resident physicians who agree to work in an underserved area of Vermont for a period of three years. Vermont considers waivers for all specialties based on community need and shortage designation. In order to be considered for a J-1 waiver request, the
J-1 Visa waiver candidate should obtain a Vermont medical license application directly from the Vermont Board of Medical Practice in order to initiate the application process as soon as the J-1 Visa waiver candidate expresses and interest in seeking employment in Vermont.
